Americans are ruled by a lawyereaucracy. Most of our “citizen legislature” (i.e. Congress) is comprised of lawyers; executive branch agencies are crawling with them; and the federal judiciary is dominated by left-wing politicians posing as objective “judges.” This last point was demonstrated once again when, after President Trump issued his revised “travel ban” executive order an old law school pal of Obama’s from Hawaii, who is now an Obama-nominated federal judge, issued another one of those lawyerly Decrees From Upon High declaring the executive order null and void everywhere
– not just in Hawaii.
This is a very old story: Congress passes a law that the hardcore left-wing lawyereaucracy disapproves of; a leftist lawyer cherry picks a left-wing extremist judge somewhere, anywhere, to issue a decree invalidating Congress; and Congress (and everyone else) genuflects to the leftist lawyereaucracy’s wishes.
It wasn’t always that way in America. As “progressive” icon Woodrow Wilson wrote triumphantly in his book, Constitutional Government in the United States
(p. 178), “The War between the States established . . . this principle, that the federal government is, through its courts, the final judge of its own powers.” No longer could the people of the “free and independent states,” as they are called in the Declaration of Independence, nullify a federal law that they thought was unconstitutional, as was very common prior to 1865. No longer could a president or Congress even challenge the constitutional monopoly of the lawyereaucracy.
Prior to 1865 there were many instances of presidents, Congress, and the people of the free, independent, and sovereign states simply ignoring the opinions of the black-robed deities of the Supreme Court, under the quaint belief that there are three
branches of government, not just the judiciary branch, and on top of that, the people of the states also had and equal voice, as articulated in the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution. New England states nullified the Jefferson/Madison trade embargo; Wisconsin and other states nullified the federal Fugitive Slave Act; Jefferson and Madison wrote articles of nullification regarding the suppression of free speech under the Sedition Act (the Virginia and Kentucky Resolves of 1798); South Carolina nullified the 1828 Tariff of Abominations; the New England states relied on the idea of state interposition or nullification to not participate in the War of 1812; and so on.
The words “judicial review” do not appear in the U.S. Constitution. This was an invention of the Hamiltonian lawyer John Marshall when he was the chief justice of the U.S. Judicial review existed, but it was not considered to be any more important than executive branch review, congressional review, or the review of the constitutionality of federal laws by the people of the free and independent states. Perhaps the most famous example of this truth is how President Andrew Jackson responded to Marshall’s personal opinion that a bank run by politicians out of the nation’s capital, primarily for the benefit of politically-connected private stockholders in the government-subsidized bank, was constitutional. In his veto message regarding the re-chartering of the Second Bank of the United States in 1832, Jackson wrote that “To this conclusion I can not assent.” The states were opposed to the existence of such a bank by a four-to-one margin, he pointed out, and that carries more
weight than the opinion of one man, John Marshall.
The opinions of the Supreme Court “ought not to control the coordinate authorities of this Government,” he wrote. Furthermore:
The Congress, the Executive, and the Court must each for itself be guided by its own opinion of the Constitution. Each public officer who takes an oath to support the Constitution swears that he will support it as he understands it, and not as it is understood by others. It is as much the duty of the House of Representatives, of the Senate, and the President to decide upon the constitutionality of any bill or resolution which may be presented to them for passage or approval as it is of the supreme judges when it may be brought before them for judicial decision. The opinion of the judges has no more authority over Congress than the opinion of Congress has over the judges, and on that point the President is independent of both. The authority of the Supreme Court must not, therefore, be permitted to control the Congress or the Executive when acting in their legislative capacities . . .
If President Trump were to begin defying the left-wing lawereaucracy, beginning with the absurd and ridiculously –worded ruling by Obama’s Hawaiian pal, he would be in sync with the man he looks up to as his presidential role model, Andrew Jackson.

Hear now our story.
What a story! Of a heroine.
What a heroine.
She won fame; She won glory.
Our heroine, Our heroine.
When darkened was our land
by the cloud of Yankee war,
at just seventeen,
Maria Isabella Boyd
became a Dazzling Southern star.
When the music of her life changed from “home sweet home,”
When happy, wondrous dreams of bright tomorrows
were ruined by bugle blasts of battle, ugly groans of death
and heart paining sobs of sorrows,
Maria Isabella Boyd, by name, decided SPYING ON YANKEES
WAS HER DEDICATED GAME.
Her life soon changed—was fraught with dangers
and filled with strangers.
Much to the enemies’ great regret
our young girl was not one to suspect.
And thus, our Belle became our Southern pride,
our Southern joy.
Like all Confederates in our South,
she believed in the Republican
form of government our Southern
Fathers in 1776 had conceived.
She knew each state was sovereign,
possessing the absolute right of secession,
And the right to defend itself against
the Republican army’s invasion
and the north’s oppression.
As a Southern bell,
Isabella rang, as a Maryland girl,
Isabella sang, melodiously, loudly, clearly.
Ever so sweetly she supported the South’s defense of itself
Our belle rang for Southern liberty,
rang for obedience to Constitutional laws,
Our belle rang, our belle sang
with the sweetest voice, the truth
of our Confederate cause.
Death, she did not fear it,
Warrior heroes in her lineage
gave wings to the daredevil in her spirit.
Belle was a patriot, not a traitor,
And so, her story is one of glory.
We began at its beginning,
We take you now to its ending.
In Wisconsin at age 56,
while on a stage, as she
told her tale of secrecy and stealth--
Those blue gray eyes closed in death,
ending her tale of Hell and shell and war.
And the Heavens gained
another bright and shining Confederate star.
Our Rebel Joan of Arc was
carried to her grave by stalwart, grieving Yankee vets
who knew her as the bravest of the brave.
Ah, yes! Yankee men
by a Southern belle whose love for our South
she never recanted

Just this past week I came into possession of a new book by Ron Kennedy called Dixie Rising–Rules for Rebels
which was just published this year by Shotwell Publishing http://www.ShotwellPublishing.com
in Columbia, South Carolina. Shotwell Publishing is not a fancy, slick-paper outfit. They publish “meat and potatoes” books, mostly for Southern folks who want to know the truth of their history and have an accurate idea of what goes on in the South today.
This latest book by Ron Kennedy is the kind of book that tells you what you need to do to resist the federal leviathan and the political sucklings that live off of it, who promise you one thing at election time and then do the exact opposite once you have voted them into office. It is based on the same format as Alinski’s Rules for Radicals,
but where Alinski presents a program for tearing down decent society, Ron Kennedy presents one for preserving decent society, especially Christian society.
In this brief article I am not going to try to present everything Ron has to say about restoring traditional Christian, Southern culture. That would be impossible. Therefore, Lord willing, I will, in the future, be dealing with more of what Ron has to say.
This book details many of our current problems here in the South and Ron notes that Southern folks trying to win by the “usual, traditional political methods” is and has been a loser for us basically since 1865. And he notes, on page 14, that “Traditional politics is the method used by the Federal Empire’s politicians to keep we the people of the South pacified and under their control. If we the people of the former Confederate States of America wish to be free, we must engage in political guerrilla warfare or, more currently described as irregular political warfare.” And he goes into exactly how we need to do this–one of the main parts of this process being education, because our folks have been dumbed down for so long by the Unitarian/socialist public school system that most no longer have any true grasp of our history. And if we don’t know where we came from then we have no clue as to where we should be going, or how to get there. Ron uses this book to show you where you should be going and how you should get there. Ron observes, on page 43 that: “…our first and primary goal is to educate our people. Our second goal is to use an aroused and motivated public to create a movement to reclaim liberty. Every act must be measured against the standard of ‘will this advance the goal of regaining freedom for we the people of the South’.”
For instance, the heading for chapter 4 is: Organizing Dixie’s Freedom Movement.
Ron stresses at the start of chapter 4 that: “…all of our activists and supporters understand the necessity of endorsing the concept of non-violent resistance to Federal tyranny. The liberal establishment will use every trick, lie and slander available to destroy this movement once it becomes clear that we are having an impact. They will try to convince the world that we are evil racists who secretly promote the use of violence And they are not above using false flag operations to do this.
Ron goes into methods for reaching different groups of folks; taxpayers, Secnd Amendment supporters, Christians, small businessmen, etc. I could tell from reading this book that they have a good program, one that is well thought out and that, if people are willing to work at it, may well be successful–to the chagrin of professional politicians and “New World Order” types.
And on page 24 and following Ron discusses what he calls Project 20/20 A Vote for Southern Freedom–Dixie’s Brexit!
I’m not going to try to explain that here. You need to get the book and see what Ron lays out.

That this country is divided and engaged in a cultural war is a fact that cannot be disputed. On the one side you have the Leftists, Satanists, most Democrats, RINO’s and the Transgender crowd who all realize this and they know what this war is all about–the destruction of Christian culture and influence. On the other side you have patriotic and conservative folks, many of them Christians, and, unfortunately, many of them don’t have a clue as to what this war is really all about, or that there even is a war. They seem to think that most of this is, somehow, a political issue and most of them have been taught that politics is “of the world” and so they shouldn’t get involved. That’s rotten theology, but it has been effective theology for the past 150 years, so why should the Leftists and their ilk change horses in midstream when this horse has been doing so well?
That this culture war transcends politics and is really all about whose culture will be dominant is something many good folks, Christians included, have not begun to fathom yet. And so they sit it out while the Left wins almost by default.
The news, when accurately reported, shows the marked divergence between these two cultures and it is a difference that will never be reconciled, nor should it be. That’s like trying to mix oil and water. If you synthesize the two then truth is gone forever.
This point can be proven, again, by accurate reporting of the news rather than by media spin. An article for February 25th on http://www.dailycaller.com
by Peter Hasson showed the Satanic Left on display for all to see. There was a town hall meeting somewhere in Louisiana, and Mr. Hasson observes: “Liberal protesters became enraged when a Louisiana town hall with Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy opened with prayer earlier this week, screaming at the chaplain as he tried to lead the crowd in prayer. The protesters, who were there with a local chapter of anti-Trump group Indivisible,
can be heard groaning and shouting as the chaplain says ‘In God we trust.’ One man can be heard saying ‘Pray on your own time!’ Video of the event, first reported by the Washington Free Beacon,
reveals one woman shouting the name ‘Lucifer’ while the chaplain invokes God’s name…They became especially furious when the chaplain closed the prayer ‘in Jesus’ name’.” This is something he should have done. No matter who liked it or not!
This incident, among countless others, displays where the culture of the Left has always been–and always will be. You cannot compromise with such folks, you must expose and resist them. They are a big part of the cultural Marxist crowd that seeks to tear down and destroy the Christian culture of the South. You might say they are a major part of the “ongoing reconstruction” of the South, and eventually of the rest of the country.
As I said, this is far from the only example of this. This morning I read an article by Jon Bowne on http://www.infowars.com
which noted: “Self-described exorcists, witches and occultists announced their plans to carry out a ritual designed to ‘bind Donald Trump and all who abet him’.” That means you, folks, and me, and all of us who support what Trump is trying to do to “drain the (political and cultural) swamp.” At a recent meeting in Florida, Mrs. Trump started off the event by reciting the Lord’s Prayer. I’ll bet that gave the Lefties the heebie-jeebies! Those people hate us, but what is more pertinent, they hate Jesus Christ and any and all things even remotely Christian. The fact that they will one day have to bend the knee to Him is not something they want to hear about.
Then there is the secession issue, which is related to all of this, though most folks never seem to manage to connect the dots.Back in 1860 one of the main reasons many Southern folks wanted to secede from the North was due to that region’s galloping apostasy. Nowadays we all hear about California wanting to secede from the Union because Trump won the election. I find it amusing that many of the same people that howl about the South’s secession, labeling it treasonous, seem to have no problem with the idea of secession for California. I don’t see any great outcry from the Satanic Left about Californian secession being treasonous. They are strangely mute on this issue. Now if South Carolina or Texas were to try it no doubt that would be a different story, but as long as it’s Leftist California –just keep quiet and don’t say anything.
At the risk of sounding uncharitable, I would say–if California wants to “depart in peace” then let her go. That would place Hollyweird in a whole different country–a novel experience, but maybe not an altogether bad one. And it would give all those movie primadonnas who don’t want to live in this country while Trump is president another country to live in, and they wouldn’t even have to move!
I have never forgotten how some folks in Illinois laughed (behind my back) when I talked about secession 15-18 years ago. They thought the idea was simply ludicrous. A few of them probably are not laughing anymore. And I’ll tell you something–with the culture war proceeding the way it is, keeping this present “Union” cobbled together is not a foregone conclusion.

Nestle USA has announced that it will move its headquarters from Glendale, California, to Rosslyn, Virginia, taking with it about 1200 jobs. The once Golden State has lost some 1600 businesses since 2008 and a net outflow of a million of mostly middle-class people from the state from 2004 to 2013 due to its onerous tax rates, the oppressive regulatory burden, and the genuine kookiness which pervades among its ruling elites.* A clueless Glendale official is apparently unconcerned about the financial repercussions of Nestle’s departure saying that it was “no big deal” and saw it as an “opportunity,” whatever that means!
The stampede of businesses out of what was once the most productive and attractive region in all of North America demonstrates again that prosperity and individual freedom are best served in a political environment of decentralization.
That the individual states of America have retained some sovereignty, despite the highly centralized “federal” system of government of which they are a part, has enabled individuals and entrepreneurs living in jurisdictions that have become too tyrannical to “escape” to political environments which are less oppressive. This, among other reasons (mainly air conditioning), led to the rise of the Sun Belt as people sought to escape the high taxes and regulations of the Northeast to less burdensome (and warmer!) southern destinations.
This can also be seen on a worldwide scale. The US, for a long time, had been a haven of laissez-faire economic philosophy, which, not surprisingly, became a magnet for those seeking opportunity and a higher standard of living. No longer is this the case as increasing numbers of companies and individuals are seeking to avoid American confiscatory tax and regulatory burdens and move “offshore” or expatriate to more favorable economic climates.
The idea of political decentralization as a catalyst for economic growth has become a part of a “school of thought” in the interpretation of how Europe became so prosperous compared to other civilizations. After the fall of the Roman Empire, Europe for centuries was divided politically among numerous jurisdictions and ruling authorities with no dominant central state on the Continent. The multitude of governing bodies kept in check, to a large degree, the level of taxation and regulation. If one state became too draconian, it would lose population to less oppressive regimes.
Just as important, Europe’s governing system was aristocratic and monarchical which has proven to be far more conducive for economic growth than democracies.
While the economic oppressed can escape among the various states, there is no avoidance from the wrath of the federal government unless through expatriation and that option has become less viable with those leaving still subject to tax obligations. This, fundamentally, is the crux of the problem and has been since the ratification of the US Constitution in 1789.
The chance that a totalitarian state such as California or the Leviathan on the Potomac would actually reform themselves or relinquish power through legislative means is a mirage. Nor will revolution work as revolutionaries while appearing altruistic, typically get a hold of the machinery of government to plunder society for their own self interest on a far grander scale than the supposed despots which they replaced!
The only viable option for the productive members of society to seek redress of state oppression is to argue, work, and eventually fight for political secession and the fragmentation of states as much as possible. Decentralization is the only hope for those opposed to the modern, omnipotent nation state. Moreover, any notion or effort to salvage the current centralized political system must be abandoned.
Naturally, before the breakup of the nation state can become a reality, the ideological case for political decentralization must be made. Public opinion must be convinced of the superiority of a world consisting of many states. Such a cause, however, will be considerably difficult after generations have been raised and made dependent upon social democracy.
When Nestle and other oppressed businesses and individuals can easily escape the clutches of totalitarian entities like California and, more importantly, the most dangerous government on the face of the earth for freer destinations, then will individual liberty and economic growth be assured.

In all of my growing up years the (fake) history books informed us that from 1861-65 we fought a “Civil War.” Needless to say, that was inaccurate. A civil war is when two opposing forces fight for control of the same government. What happened in the 1860s hardly fits that description. The Confederate States were not fighting to overthrow the government in Washington. All they wanted was to be free of it, but the Regime in Washington wasn’t having any of that because, as it turned out, the Southern states paid most of the tariffs in the country and to let them go would have cost the North and the government in Washington big bucks and so the South had to be kept in the Union so it could, as the man in the old John Wayne movie said “remit the extortion money.”
When the shooting part of that war was over, the government in Washington then resorted to that old Karl Marx favorite “reconstruction.” That was a charitable term for stealing anything of value left in the South after the shooting was over. But, whatever you want to call it–the War of Northern Aggression (an accurate title) or the War for Southern Independence (also accurate), it was not a civil war. The two sides were not fighting for control of the federal government in Sodom on the Potomac (yes folks, it was that, even back then).
However, what you see going on in Washington nowadays could more properly be called a civil war, because you have the legitimately elected administration of Donald Trump fighting against a shadow government that is trying to force it out of office and much of that effort is being controlled by the former president, who is, no matter what they say of him, a Marxist. And for help he has the lady Trump labeled as “Lying Hillary” and then there is George Soros, whose very deep pockets are paying for much of this effort. Soros, a former collaborator with the Nazis in his younger days, spends his money now fomenting revolutions around the world–and in the United States. To say he is to the left of Ho Chi Minh would be charitable.
Lots of folks reading this will be tempted to say “Oh, that’s only Benson’s opinion, what does he know?” And while I might not know a lot, there are other knowledgeable people that do.
One of them is Joachim Hagopian, a West Point graduate and former U.S. Army officer. On March 6, 2017, and article he wrote appeared on http://www.lewrockwell.com
Mr.Hagopian made several penetrating comments in this article and I cannot cover all of them here but I will try to hit a few of the pertinent ones germane to the current situation. He observed: “The United States federal government in Washington is under attack today. Our nation’s capital is presently under siege, not from military bombs or rockets fired by any foreign enemy but from powerful enemies within…With Obama-Hillary-Soros forces ostensibly maneuvering outside official government channels, against America’s legitimately elected President Trump, and their loyalist foot soldiers–the neocons…loyalists within the CIA/NSA/FBI still operating inside deep state, … with Mainstream Media, this sinister alliance is also organizing legions of clueless young leftist protesters to be at the ready for deployment in the streets to wreak havoc violently rioting as paid insurgents. What we have here is an American Spring uprising, an insurgent regime change operation taking place right here in our own country, currently bent on overthrowing America’s existing ‘democratically elected’ government.” You could call it a coup if you want, and it is probably at least that, but I contend that, where you have a legitimately elected government which is being assaulted by an illegitimate “shadow government” that wants to assume control, then you have a civil war.
Never have we had a situation such as the one that presently exists in this country now where the legitimately elected new government is under constant (and I really mean constant)
attack by the losers on the Left, to the point where they are using all manner of political slight of hand and outright lying to assume control that they were incapable of gaining via the ballot box. These people are truly cultural Marxists, to the point where they honestly believe they have the right to wield the power in this country and to hell with what the electorate wants! And they are, as I write this, attempting to seize it anyway they can.
So, whether we recognize it or not, we are
in a civil war–against the Leftists who are working to usurp power they are not entitled to, but want anyway. And they mean to have it! Our citizenry had better wake up and realize what those people are all about. If they manage to oust Trump from office, where do you think you Second Amendment rights will be then–down the commode, that’s where. For starters, we better pray about all of this and ask the Lord’s guidance as to how we should respond–and it ain’t by letting them put their combat boots on our necks. And we better pray for the president, too, and pray against
those who are trying to tear the country down.

There’s been a lot of talk recently about California seceding from the union. It’s akin to Hollywood celebs vowing to move out of the country if a Republican wins the White House. Meaning that it’s all bluster. Those who extol the virtues of the People’s Republic of California love to make hollow threats, but they possess neither the courage nor the financial resources to back them up.
If California were ever on its own, within six months of its “independence” it would be unable to function at even a survival level. Though it boasts the sixth largest economy in the world (larger than that of both Brazil and France!), there’s no economy big enough to keep a Marxist country afloat. This has been demonstrated time and again in such failed nations as Cuba, the Soviet Union, Mozambique, and every other country that has experimented with socialism/communism in any of its hideous forms.
The majority of California’s adult population consists of adult children whose brains have never developed beyond adolescence. They cling to a stunted Woodstock mentality that makes them incapable of rational thought, which, if not addressed professionally, has the potential to be fatal. They live in an Oz-like land of constant frustration, which causes them to resort to tantrums and violence as the combined solution to every perceived problem.
The bottom line to all this is that a majority of Californians are not able to function as self-sustaining adults in the real world, so they irrationally dedicate themselves to the impossible task of trying to remake our imperfect world into a perfect world they create in their soiled minds.
Such an immature and naïve mental state can have dire consequences not only for the individual who is saddled with it but for rational people of good will who live in the same societal space as they do. It’s dangerous to everyone, because those who are part of the Radical Left, in particular, employ lies, slander, and violence day-in-and-day-out in an attempt to achieve their impossible goal of creating the perfect world they envision in their minds.
I lived in Southern California for about 20 years, and I loved it for about ten of those years. It was a period when seemingly everything that happened was wonderful — meeting and marrying the most beautiful, kindest, most caring woman in the world, enjoying my four children as they progressed through grade school, middle school, and high school, rising from oblivion to the pinnacle of the book-publishing world by writing and self-publishing two New York Times
#1 bestsellers, and much, much more.
But as we rolled into the eighties, the glitzy lifestyle of Los Angeles began to lose its appeal for me. Being surrounded by millions of Hollywood types and, worse, wannabe Hollywood types, became a painful daily task. I grew tired of seeing people with no visible means of support driving Rolls-Royces and living in rented mansions.
Above all, the left-wing political craziness and political correctness began to wear me down. I got tired of debating low-information people — and, worse, no-
information people — and increasingly found myself withdrawing from the outside world.
I slowly faced up to the reality that people in Southern California had a collective mental disorder that caused them to talk and act in ways that was completely foreign to how the rest of the nation thought or behaved.
I remember many years ago Paul Newman saying that “Los Angeles is like a beautiful lady dying of cancer.” Notwithstanding his liberal credentials, Newman nailed it. For sheer luxury and beauty, it’s hard to beat Beverly Hills, Holmby Hills, and Bel-Air, but, with just a few exceptions, most of
the rest of
is a sewer.
I became convinced, and today am certain, that California cannot be saved. It long ago passed the tipping point and is now a giant left-wing cauldron boiling over with hatred, intolerance, and violence. It’s gigantic GDP can’t save it, because when GDP in California increases, it always brings with it an increase in welfare benefits. The Sacramento beast has an insatiable appetite for vote-buying entitlements, regulations, and illegal schemes.
That said, given that the national debt can never repaid — and, in fact, is going to increase dramatically in the coming years — I favor killing two birds with one stone and settling our debt with our largest creditor, China, by giving it title to the state of California outright — lock, stock, and illegal immigrants. Then, let Sacramento figure out how to deal with its new Asian rulers who don’t take kindly to liberal ideas like sanctuary cities, rioting, and welfare fraud.
As I’ve written about before, it’s inevitable that the United States will ultimately break into several nations, but right now just getting the People’s Republic of California out of our lives and out of our pocketbooks would be a real boost to the average American’s morale.
So, with that delicious thought in mind, I invite you to join me in a toast to California’s secession — voluntarily or forced, I’m not particular.
